Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

1. Who we are

GP Marketing is a digital marketing agency based in Dunedin, New Zealand. We operate the website at gpmarketing.co.nz and provide marketing services to New Zealand businesses. This policy explains how we handle personal information we collect through our website and services.

2. What information we collect

We collect personal information only when you actively provide it. This includes:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number when you submit a contact or enquiry form
  • Your business name and service interests when you request a strategy call
  • Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited (collected automatically via analytics)

If you become a paying client, we will also handle business performance data, advertising account access, and campaign results as part of service delivery. That data is governed by your client agreement and used solely to deliver and report on the services you have engaged us for — it is not subject to this website privacy policy.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to your enquiry or service request
  • Schedule and conduct strategy calls
  • Send you information relevant to your request — we will not send marketing communications without your explicit consent
  • Improve our website and services based on usage patterns

4. Legal basis (NZ Privacy Act 2020)

We collect and use personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. We collect information from you directly, tell you the purpose at the time of collection, and only use it for that purpose or a directly related purpose. We do not share, sell, or disclose your personal information to third parties except as required to deliver our services (e.g., email providers) or as required by law.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Resend — for delivering transactional email from our contact form
  • Google Analytics — for aggregated, anonymised website traffic analysis (only activated with your consent)
  • Vercel — our website hosting provider, based in the United States. Vercel is SOC 2 Type II certified and processes data under standard contractual clauses that provide protections equivalent to those in New Zealand

Each of these providers operates under their own privacy policy and data processing agreements. Where personal data is transferred outside New Zealand, we use providers that are either SOC 2 certified or operate under standard contractual clauses to ensure comparable privacy protections apply.

6. How long we keep your data

We retain enquiry and contact form data for up to 24 months to allow us to follow up and to review our service quality. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's retention settings (typically 14 months for Google Analytics). You can request deletion at any time.

7. Your rights

Under the NZ Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Request access to any personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of information that is inaccurate or misleading
  • Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention obligations)
  • Withdraw consent to our use of your personal information at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@gpmarketing.co.nz. We will respond within 20 working days as required by the Act.

8. Cookies

Our website uses two categories of cookies:

  • Essential cookies — required for basic site functionality. These are always active and cannot be declined.
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — used to collect aggregated, anonymised data about how visitors use the site. These are only set with your consent via the cookie notice shown on your first visit.

We do not use cookies to identify you personally or to serve targeted advertising. You can change your analytics preference at any time, or disable cookies entirely through your browser settings — though this may affect some site functionality.

9. Complaints

If you have a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at hello@gpmarketing.co.nz. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The most recent version will always be available at this URL. We will notify you of material changes via a notice on our website.
